AREA REPORT: WEST ADAMS, LOS ANGELES

West Adams is a beautiful historical neighborhood in South LA. As one of the oldest neighborhoods in LA, it is known for Victorian styled mansions built between 1880-1925.

According to the Los Angeles Times, 22,857 people live in the city, with the median age resting at 28. The West Adams neighborhood demographic breaks down as – 56.2% Latino, 37.6% Black, 2.4% White, 1.7% Asian, and 2% Other.

Highlights include:

Close to everything – West Adams has reasonably priced homes, while still being close to Culver City, the beach and the Expo Line, making any commute easy.

Parks and outdoor areas– You’ve got close access to Kenneth Hahn Park, the Ballona Creek Bike Path and the Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook. Are you an outdoor adventure lover? You’ve got plenty of options here.

Good school options – “Schools inside the West Adams boundary include Marvin Elementary and Cienega Elementary, which scored 794 and 792, respectively, in the 2013 Academic Performance Index. Bright spots in the area include Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies, which scored 897, and Baldwin Hills Elementary, which scored 864. Alta Loma Elementary scored 763”, according to LA Times.
